A guide to how your money is spent
What is the money for my child spent on?
The main basis of our programmes is to provide education. In
the Western world we often have a choice about education for our
children in Nepal we hope to give a child a chance.
This will allow them to receive education as a result of support
through our sponsorship programme, as a result of which the children
will have broader and brighter opportunities in the future.
The sponsorship funds are spent according to the needs of each
individual case. A combination of some or all of the below will
be provided for: School registrations and Tuition fees, Uniforms,
Books & Stationary, Tiffin (school lunch), medical aid and
supplementary food & clothing.
How much of what I give to CHANCE is spent on administration
and running costs?
At Chance we pledge that 100% of the money donated by any individual
will be spent on the child or family whom they sponsor. We are
very proud to be able to make this pledge and believe that when
individuals donate and develop a relationship with a sponsored
child they want to know their money is being spent efficiently
and directly on the cause for which it was meant.
We are able to do this by efficient management of Gift Aid. For
every pound donated by UK taxpayers, we can claim 28 pence from
the inland revenue. These funds allow us to provide welfare and
education for more children and their families, such as the Moktans.
In addition they help us manage the administration without using
funds coming directly from our donors wallet.
How do I know my contribution is going where you say it is going?
Here at CHANCE we believe accountability and transparency are
paramount values. We will at any time be happy to share with you
the financial accounts and file relating to your sponsorship.
These files are collated and an external management accountant
produces a financial report which is available to the charity
commission on an annual basis. We also adhere to an independent
financial watchdog organisation, which provides guidelines for
the running of Charities. Please click here if you wish to view
their site: BBB Wise Giving Alliance.
