A guide to child sponsorship - your questions answered

Group sponsorship and Gift Aid

Can a group sponsor a child or do I have to be an individual?

Children on the Tibetan plateauAny group of people can team together to pool their contributions for a sponsorship. In the case of our orphaned children we have members of a Gardening Club & Rotary Club supporting as groups, as well as individuals. Any club, society, organisation, or simply a group of friends can take on a sponsorship.

Can I make a gift sponsorship on behalf of another person?

If you wish to contribute to CHANCE on behalf of some-one else, we encourage a donation to be sent rather than a full commitment to a sponsorship.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a mechanism which allows tax to be reclaimed from the Inland Revenue on charity donations made by UK tax payers. It is extremely important for you to review the Gift Aid section when completing the sponsorship forms. If you pay UK tax this declaration allows CHANCE to claim 28 pence from the inland revenue for every £1 you donate.
