A guide to child sponsorship - your questions answered

What do I get out of being a sponsor?

Nepalese schoolchildrenSatisfaction is the most significant impact from being a sponsor. The feeling that you have made such a life changing impact on a child’s life is the biggest reward.

In addition to this, CHANCE will provide you with some more tangible things. However, each of our sponsorship relationships are different and unique, and this is one of the elements we wish to maintain. We do not have structured correspondence regimes, but allow each relationship to develop according to the wishes of the individuals involved. Of this we are proud and committed.

To give you an idea of how it may work, in the first few months we will send you a letter with details of your child and their background. This will usually also contain photographs and details of the school the child has been admitted to as a result of your support. Your sponsored child will often follow this up with a letter sent from them via our Field Officers. It is then up to you how you wish to develop the relationship. If we do not here from you, we will of course continue to keep you up to date with reports from our Field Officer. These include information such as the child’s general health and well-being, their educational progress, or updates about the family and broader community.

You get out of your sponsorship as much as you want!
